7 Best Airbnbs For a Northern California Fall Getaway (That Are Still Available to Rent)

Though temperatures in the East Bay were hovering around 80 degrees just a few days ago, fall has officially begun. In many regions of Northern California, the leaves are just starting to change, and according to the California leaf peeping maps, you're going to want to plan your fall foliage trips ASAP. Nothing quite compares to fall in New England, but these west coast destinations for foliage still deliver their own kinds of autumn magic.

Here are 7 of the best fall vacation rentals in Northern California that still have October availability (but book now because that can change fast!)

1. Mount Shasta, McCloud Falls, & Burney Falls

There's no shortage of unique spots to stay in the area, from glamping at Belcampo Farms to staying in a tiny house in nearby Gazelle, CA. McCloud Falls and Burney Falls are spectacular in the fall, and there are plenty of hikes in the Mt. Shasta area to show off the fall colors. To tackle all three spots, you'll want a long weekend. If you're strapped for time, pick one of the falls and save the other for another trip—you'll want an excuse to come back.

In case you need a third option in the area, check out this spot a bit further north that I've had bookmarked for years:
